The objectives of the ginger processing plant are to process raw ginger into ginger oil and powder for the export market using own ginger plantation with additional ginger sourced from neighbouring plantations.
The offtake currency is US dollars and buyers from Europe are willing to purchase the ginger oil and powder. The business aspiration is to acquire and then to run the plant efficiently in order to become a dominant ginger processor.
The original plant manufacturer from Europe is no longer in business and parts are unavailable. A new plant needs to be purchased due to the old plant being rendered unable to function. Nigeria’s position in the world ginger production league is 1) China, 2) India and 3) Nigeria. The main offtakers are the pharmaceutical industry and the processed food industry.
